James Cameron’s recent opus, Avatar, is considered to be the new revolution in film and cinematic technology. However, in the eyes of many fans, James Cameron may never top his action masterpiece Terminator 2. While he was placed on the map well before this with films like Aliens, it wasn’t until Terminator 2 that he was really given the freedom to create something that broke all barriers of what had come before him. It is, without a doubt, one of the all time must download movies.

T2 is remembered as a major stepping stone for the technology of special effects, alongside Jurassic Park, but people forget that the special effects were not the point of the film, that the effects were there to help the story, not the other way around. Cameron makes great steps in terms of special effects, but the effects are always, always there to serve the story, and not for their own sake.
