Here’s the fundamental trick, as it looks like to your viewers. You hold a customary deck of cards, and fan it out, like they would imagine. Then you order them to choose a card, any card. They take card, and you tell them to study it delicately, and present it to their friends. After they place it back in the deck, you inexplicably pluck it right out. They will be astounded, and think you have powerful extrasensory powers.

Here’s how to do the ploy. While they are busily studying their card, you part the deck, and make a place for them to put their card. All you need to do is take a speedy peak at the card that you will place on top of theirs.
